Our family has lived there since the early 1940’s, when my Grandfather brought the family to the United States in search of a better life. We fit in right from the start as especially in the old days, there was the strongest Jewish community in the country. My Grandmother, and later my Mother both belonged to local “recipe clubs” in which the ladies would gather weekly to “swap” the best recipes – and I, of course was the benefactor of all of this, growing up in a household where good food wasn’t just important – it was mandatory!"
